I’ve always been interested in astronomy, to the point that I once considered studying astrophysics, and later engineering physics since my college didn’t offer an astrophysics program. However, I didn’t perform as well as I had hoped, and I eventually switched to computer science as a more stable path.
Even so, I’ve never lost my love for astronomy. Over time, I’ve come to understand how much math and complex technology are required to study it formally. While my path has led me to develop a strong interest in evolutionary psychology and the social sciences, my fascination with space and the stars has never really gone away.
These days, I appreciate astronomy in a different way, simply by observing, reflecting, and occasionally learning from what scientists have written. Recently, after seeing how much I still love space, my family gifted me a telescope. For the first time, I was able to see the moon up close with my own eyes.
It was everything I had hoped for.
Space is incredible, and here is a photo I took this morning.
My love for space remains the same, but my love and appreciation for my family is even greater.
As big as the moon.
